On May 7th, the reporter visited the modern fish farm in Baishu Village, Huilongshan Yao Township, Zixing City. The project is in its second phase. The total investment in the project is 120 million yuan. And it is planned to cover a land area of 90 mu (6 hectares) .

The project will make full use of the quality water resource in Banlong Reservoir in Mountain Huilong. Adhering to the international advanced fish farming standards, the farm is expected to be built as an advanced energy-saving and pollution-reducing fish farm. In the first phase of the project, the farm raised 3 million young eels and it is expected to produce 1,000 tons of eels a year, with its annual production value reaching 100 million yuan.

The farm mainly sells its products to Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Japan, South Korea, European countries and the US. The fish farm is meant to boost the transition of the city’s fish industry and to increase the income of the farmers, prompting the village rejuvenation and economic and social development.
